The Czechs at Auto Forum recently started a long term test with one of their new domestic cars, the Rapid sedan.
Their test car is a 1.2 TSI 105 with a six-speed manual gearbox, and they've already placed it on the dyno to see why it's faster than claimed. Not surprisingly, it has more power and torque than official figures claim (check out the video).
This weekend, they also took the car out for some high speed testing. Official figures claim a top speed of 195 km/h for the affordable sedan, GPS data indicates 220 km/h while the needle points at 226 km/h.
This won't impress a supercar owner, but maybe we should remember this is a Skoda with a 1.2-liter engine carrying a full tank of fuel.
