We already know what the new Skoda Octavia will look like, and all we needed to complete the picture was the design of the rear lights. Thankfully, Skoda has been nice enough to provide us with a teaser image of their upcoming model, which shows, just what we were missing - the rear light.
The car has been spotted on numerous occasions, the last of which being in Chile (in estate form, as well), which followed several sightings in the Czech Republic, where the car is built. The teaser also shows that the Octavia borrows design cues from the smaller and cheaper Rapid, like the triangle which is formed underneath the Skoda badge, moving from the light towards where the number plate should be.
Considering the fact that it is underpinned by the same MQB platform which underpins both the all-new VW Golf and the SEAT Leon, we have a pretty good idea where it will situate itself, in terms of handling, when compared to its two ‘sister cars’. The Leon is the sportiest of the lot, featuring the hardest suspension, while the Golf is the best compromise between comfort and sportiness - the Octavia will be the softest and most comfortable of the three, and it will appeal to a slightly different set of buyers.
