After the Octavia Greenline II, Skoda is now introducing the very first eco versions of the smaller and cheaper Rapid hatch and sedan. The very first Rapid Greenline models are coming to Britain, with CO2 emissions of just 99 g/km, which make them perfect for company car buyers.
Prices will start at £17,535 for the normal Skoda Rapid and at £17,195 for the Rapid Spaceback. The duo are available to order now, with first customer deliveries expected early in 2014.
Both cars come with 15-inch ‘Carme’ alloy wheels with low rolling resistance tyres, front fog lights and sunset glass. Inside there is a height-adjustable driver’s seat, air-conditioning and a Maxi-DOT trip computer.
Both models come with the same 1.6-liter TDI engine, rated at only 90 PS and fitted as standard with DPF. The only gearbox option is a long-legged five-speed manual. Together with small changes to the cars, fuel consumption on the combined cycle is as low as 74.3 mpg UK.
