Japanese automaker Toyota has unveiled the FCV (Fuel Cell Vehicle) Concept. Scheduled to arrive in 2015, the company’s first hydrogen-powered automobile will be introduced at the Tokyo Motor Show later this month.
Sporting an exterior design that “evokes flowing water”, the FCV concept features air intakes on each side of its front hood, flowing-liquid door profile, wave-motif fuel cap, while the “rear view conveys a catamaran’s stern”.

Developed to accommodate up to four passengers, the concept uses light-weight FC stack and two 70 MPa high-pressure hydrogen tanks. The FC stack boasts a power output density of 3kW/l and is equipped with the company’s high-efficiency boost converter. Toyota says the driving range is of at least 500 km (310 miles), while refueling can be completed in a low as three minutes.

Further details will be unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show, but you can check out the full press blast below.
