Seat's New Alhambra 4WD Offers Plenty of Traction

Seat has decided to fit its best MPV offering with a permanent all-wheel drive platform that provides plenty of traction and stability. The Alhambra 4WD will join the European lineup this summer, offering a safer drive for families businesses and hobby travelers looking for a safer car that can take them to their winter destination of choice.

“Thanks to the sophisticated design of its carefully tuned chassis, the SEAT Alhambra stays true to the spirit of the brand by delivering a surprising level of sporty driving fun – something not usually associated with MPVs. Yet the Alhambra’s dynamism doesn’t come at the expense of long-distance comfort,” states the official press release.

Powering the Alhambra 4WD is Volkswagen Group’s 2.0-liter TDI with 140 hp (103 kW). It sends its power to all four wheels via the standard manual six-speed transmission. Despite its large proportions, the car is not sluggish, achieving a top speed of 191 km/h (118 mph) and an acceleration time from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) of 11.4 seconds. With an average fuel consumption of only 6 liters per 100 kilometers and CO2 emissions of just 158 g/km, the 4WD sets a benchmark in this vehicle class. The MPV is also equipped with an SCR catalytic converter (Selective Catalytic Reduction), making even the diesel model one of the world's cleanest MPVs.

The SEAT Alhambra 4WD can accommodate up to five passengers in the Reference and Style versions, while the six-seater will be available at the end of this year. This 2+2+2 seating arrangement will further emphasize the Alhambra’s premium character.
