SEAT has announced the UK pricing for its most powerful vehicle (excluding special editions), the Cupra R, which will be available for order in the country starting from April 1.

The insane hatch can be yours for a price starting at $37,638 (25,205 pounds).

The Cupra R badge, which was last seen in 2006, means that the Leon gets the same engine as the Audi S3: a turbocharged 2.0 liter powerplant that produces 265 hp at 6.000 rpm and 360 Nm of torque. Matted to a six-speed manual gearbox, the unit enables the car to leave the 62 mph mark behind in 6.2 seconds and keep on playing until 155 mph while meeting the Euro 5 emission standard, emitting 190 grams of CO2 per km and returning a combined fuel consumption of 35 UK mpg.

The car comes with multiple exterior changes, such as a twin central exhaust, a rear diffuser, an extended rear spoiler and others. It uses 19 inch Potenza alloy rims, wrapped in high performance tires.

The Leon Cupra R’s interior has received a special attention and now features bucket front seats and a quilted leather finish.

The engineering and styling revisions that have gone into the new Leon Cupra R underline our determination to make this exceptional new car a trueclass leader,” said Andy Medcraft, SEAT UK Product Marketing Manager. ‘The car neatly encapsulates everything that sets SEAT apart from the plethora of other hot hatches around and I’m sure that existing Leon owners, and drivers who have yet to try SEAT, will be thrilled to see its arrival in British showrooms."
