At the 2012 China Auto show in Beijing, Spanish carmaker seat has decided to bring what it says is a concept, but is actually the 2012 Ibiza Cupra, featuring some minor cosmetic improvements.
These follow the same pattern as the regular Ibiza facelift revealed in Geneva in March. The Ibiza was never an ugly car, so they didn’t have to change that much to update it, but the Cupra somehow needs more than just this, since it’s a performance car.
The hothatch based on the VW Polo gets a new lower grille, upper grille, triangular foglights, LED integrated in the headlights. This might be called a concept, but the interior has been fitted, so it looks like a navigation system, potentially a TomTom add-on, on top of the dash.
To be honest, the old Ibiza Cupra looked more menacing before, with its black mouth and angry eyes. And they’ve kept the one think that ruined the car in our eyes - the fake exhaust tip.
