SEAT Ecomotive Range Goes to Frankfurt

The Spanish carmaker has announced that its latest additions to the ‘greener’ range will be exhibited at the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA). The Ecomotive versions of the Altea, Altea XL and Leon are part of SEAT’s strategy of making their cars less harmful to the environment. The revised versions of the Altea and Altea XL join the SEAT Ibiza, Leon and Alhambra ECOMOTIVE line-up for the first time. The new ‘greener’ range have been fitted with the 1.6 TDI CR engine that is able to develop 105 HP and lower both fuel consumption figures and emissions levels. The Altea and Altea XL Ecomotive emit 119g/km, while the Leon Ecomotive emits 99g/km, thanks to the Auto Start/Stop and energy regeneration functions. Moreover, all the cars have been equipped with the recommended gear indicator device, which displays the most appropriate gear to engage depending on the driving conditions. In addition, the entire Ecomotive range have been fitted with low friction tires, and will be available in both Reference and high spec Style trim levels. The Reference version comes with ABS and TCS, ESP + EBA, driver and passenger airbags, side and head airbags, rear seat Isofix anchoring points, tinted glass, 15-inch steel wheels, double headlights, trip computer, CD radio + MP3 + six speakers + AUX in and air conditioning as some of the standard features. In addition to the Reference, the Style version comes with cornering fog lights, three-spoke leather multi-functional steering wheel, leather gearknob, electric heated folding door mirrors, cruise control, Coming Home function, climate control, combined USB + AUX in connection, height adjustable driver and passenger seat with lumbar control and 16-inch alloy wheels, as standard. autoevolution will be attending the 2009 Frankfurt Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of these vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions
