Scion Holiday Mail Drop Campaign Announced

As Christmas approaches, the families of the soldiers fighting in the hot zones of the Planet can't help but think to how they will spend their holidays, trapped in between mountains of dust and undetectable IEDs.

The automotive world in particular is perhaps the industry which comes the closest to providing a bit of relief for the families and a touch of home for the troops. We've seen so far several endeavors undertaken by Ram Trucks or Harley Davidson, all meant to provide a bit of comfort for the people fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Scion joined their efforts today by announcing the launch of the Scion Holiday Mail Drop. Not actually dropping mail, the program offers military personnel with so called holiday packs, which comprise complimentary clothing and accessories.

The program is not only meant for the soldiers serving outside the US, but for the ones stationed at home as well. Additional details about the program as well as a registration form, can be found at the following link.

“There is no way to truly give back the amount that the servicemen and servicewomen of our country have given to us," said Jack Hollis, vice president of Scion. "It's a small way for Scion to offer its appreciation for their outstanding service and dedication."

Scion is not at its first involvement with the military, having launched the 2009 holiday gifting program and the Battle of the Builds military design challenge. The Scion Mail Drop is ran with the help of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps commercial sponsorship units
