Schumacher Is Fit to Win F1 Races - Manager

Formula One's 7-time world champion Michael Schumacher is 100 percent physically fit to not only compete in F1 races, but also win them. Of course, it wasn't the Ferrari-an to brag about his medical condition or his potential to win F1 races, but his manager Willi Weber.

Schu was ready to make his Formula One return earlier this year, during the European Grand Prix at Valencia, as he was scheduled to replace injured Felipe Massa in the Ferrari F60. However, a neck injury he sustained months earlier, during a World Superbike test in February, prevented him from being totally fit for racing.

Ever since he announced he will in fact not join the Scuderia for the remaining rounds of 2009, people in and around the F1 paddock have been wondering what Schumacher is planning for the future. Both Ferrari and Brawn GP/Silver Arrows seem to want him in their lineup for next season, only each under different circumstances.

However, should Schumacher indeed decide to make his comeback into the sport, Weber argued it won't be long until he'll return to his winning ways.

His neck is also completely fine, just like his entire psyche. He could drive for victories,” said the German manager, according to German weekly Bunte.

However, not everyone is convinced Schu will return to racing in 2010, as neither Ross Brawn, nor Luca di Montezemolo seem to look at it as a viable option. To echo those thoughts was former Ferrari champion Niki Lauda, who recently told F1's official site that he doesn't see the 40-year old race again.

I don't believe that there is one single grain of truth in (the rumors), at least from all the signals that I get. There was a window of opportunity after Felipe's accident and had Michael been fit he would have taken up that chance to race for three or four races - to prove himself, get the adrenaline rush, and see where he stood in the pecking order. But I cannot believe that he would be up for a full season. Why then he did stop racing in the first place? But that is my personal opinion,” said Lauda.
