The perfect summer vacation for the rich of the planet usually involves spending at least a few days on a yacht with family and friends. A yacht usually offers a way to leave the hustle and bustle behind, a place to reconnect, and a level of privacy hardly surpassed by other forms of holiday. All the better if it's your own custom watercraft, designed and built exclusively to meet your needs and preferences.
The brand-new 164-foot (50-meter) Anjelif superyacht is soon going to make its owner's yachting dreams come true, as Columbus Yachts - the Italian shipyard that built it - has announced the full-custom vessel has hit the water for the first time at the company's facility in Ancona, Italy.

Anjelif is a 499 GT four-deck yacht made entirely of aluminum and was commissioned by a seasoned yacht owner who knew exactly what features they wanted on their pleasure watercraft. The exterior and interior design is signed off by Marco Casali of Rome-based Too-Design studio, while the Palumbo Superyachts team took care of naval architecture.

Finished in an eye-catching metallic paint, the yacht boasts a sleek, sporty profile despite the number of decks and is packed with technical and design innovations focused on minimizing both the yacht's environmental impact and the effects of the environment on the guests. Sustainability, environmental friendliness, and high-quality equipment were high on the owner's list of requests, so Anjelif comes with a hybrid, diesel-electric propulsion system and two cutting-edge technologies for improved guest safety and cleanliness inside.

The Research and Development team at Palumbo Superyachts mentions that they "made use of cutting-edge solutions to ensure the elimination of viruses and bacteria from the outside air and the sanitization of every room inside the boat." More precisely, the vessel is equipped with a plasma air purifier that ensures air coming from the outside flows through a plasma field that eliminates viruses and other harmful airborne particles. A complementary air-sanitation system that activates at predefined intervals further improves the quality of the air inside certain rooms on the yacht.

Moreover, natural and ecological materials were used throughout the interiors. In terms of guest accommodation, the superyacht features a master cabin on the main deck forward, plus four double cabins below deck. It also has seven cabins for crew members.. They will be able to enjoy an authentic yachting experience, with plenty of on-deck amenities and entertainment opportunities, such as a hot tub on the sundeck, a pool tucked away into the transom, a gym, a sauna, and a massage room on the main deck, a touch-and-go helipad that can turn into an open-air cinema on the foredeck, and more.

As for performance, Anjelif is powered by twin MTU engines that are expected to provide a range of 3,000 nautical miles (5,556 km) while cruising at 12 knots (13.8 mph or 22.2 kph). Upcoming sea trials should confirm the yacht's top speed of 20 knots (37 mph or 23 kph). Hybrid diesel-electric propulsion is also possible thanks to the integration of two electric motors generating 100 kW each for a speed of approximately 9 knots (10 mph/17 kph). The range achieved when cruising in hybrid mode has not been disclosed.

The custom Anjelif superyacht will go on its maiden voyage this summer and will make its world debut at the prestigious Monaco Yacht Show in September.
