After the recent acquisition of Saab Automobile AB by Spyker Cars NV, the company’s North American division has taken the first step into reviving the Swedish brand by announcing the 2010 pricing for the 9-3 model range.
With the most exciting new entry being the 9-3X premium cross-over model, this will be the first 2010 model year Saab vehicle produced for the US market. Saab Cars North America said in a press release the new vehicles will be arriving in showrooms mid-March and with a 4 to 12 percent lowered manufacturer-suggested retail price (MSRP), as compared to the 2009 model year range.
"This pricing action allows Saab to be in-line with the market and maintains accessibility of Saab's rich Swedish heritage, innovation and responsible performance for our many loyal owners, enthusiasts and potential new customers," said Mike Colleran, President and COO, Saab Cars North America.
The all-new 9-3X is among the most anticipated models nowadays, with Saab’s 2.0-liter turbocharged engine mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox the car offering sporty performance with excellent gas mileage (20 mpg city/29 mpg highway for the manual transmission and 17 mpg city/27 mpg highway for the automatic transmission). The 9-3X model comes with standard Cross-Wheel Drive (XWD) with electronic limited slip differential (eLSD) and raised chassis for capable off-road driving.

The company also readied some optional Premium packages for the 2010 9-3 model range as well as two new colors available for all body styles, namely glacier silver metallic and arctic white.
