Russian Driver Topples 18-Wheeler in Roundabout

Trucks in general, and 18-wheelers in particular don’t really mix well with city driving, as they are simply not conceived to be able to handle tight turns, narrow streets and roundabouts. This Russian 18-wheeler driver clearly proves the point, as he topples his rig, at less than 5 km/h, in a roundabout.
The structure at the center of the roundabout did have its part to play in the incident, as it allowed the trailer wheels to climb it during the turn, first making the trailer lean heavily, then finally, with gravity coming into the mix, making it fall onto its side. This is more of an embarrassing crash, rather than a severe one, but it does show how difficult it is to maneuver a big rig through a turn which is much too tight.

It probably isn’t even the driver’s fault, as whoever came up with the idea for the the truck to go through that roundabout was clearly out of his or her league.
