Crossing the road in Russia is a real adventure which requires courage, planning and patience, especially when there are more than two lanes to cross. This elderly gentleman from Russia nearly gets hit by what can only be described as a bad driver.
He is grazed by the speeding Audi A6 Avant which is only able to stop 10 meters after the crosswalk, when it would have been too late. This video is extremely similar to many others we have seen, which has lead us to believe that this is a nation-wide phenomenon in the country. The elderly gentleman was, indeed, very lucky. No wonder, then, that they are removing crosswalks (in a very rudimentary fashion, it must be said), because they have become useless - only animals seem to be brave enough to use them!
This is an extremely dangerous practice and they should station a cop at each crosswalk, if it saves one life. Drivers should get their licenses suspended immediately and without any sort of argument, and if they repeat the offense, they should be fined considerably and not be allowed to drive, because someone could easily die due to their incompetence!
