Now, the Porsche-dedicated tuner RUF comes to offer us a tuning kit for the diesel version of the 2011 Porsche Cayenne. The tuning company offers two power levels for its customers.
Before we start. we’ll remind you that the stock Porsche Cayenne is powered by a 2967 cc V6 engine that delivers 240 hp and a maximum torque of 549 Nm.
The entry-level power upgrade brings the unit to 288 hp and 580 Nm of torque, offering a noticeable upgrade that can be used anytime the driver feels the need for a shot of acceleration. The increase was achieved through the use of a ECU remap. If you feel like this is the upgrade to have for your Cayenne diesel, be prepared to spend EUR3,850.
Those who really feel the need for speed can opt for the second power upgrade, which allows the powerplant to deliver 310 hp and an impressive maximum torque figure of 630 Nm. To bring the engine to this level, RUF engineers installed a modified turbocharger and remapped the ECU. Those who opt for this pack will have to pay EUR7,300 for it.
The performance figures for the RUF 2011 Porsche Cayenne Diesel have not been released, but we expect the level two upgrade to bring the SUB into a totally different league. The stock Cayenne diesel needs 7.8 seconds to deal with the 0 to 62 mph sprint and offers a top speed 135 mph (217 km/h).
