If you're looking for a tiny home on wheels ready for off-road and off-grid adventures, you could take a look at Rossmonster's creations. The company specializes in making four-season-ready rigs in the form of truck campers and camper vans. Its latest build is based on a Sprinter and comes with many creature comforts.
I've covered many Rossmonster rigs here on autoevolution, but the one I'm checking out today stands out with a different layout and other distinctive features. It's a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter with a 170" wheelbase. Before we peek inside, I want to tell you more about the exterior accessories.

The massive pop-top roof is the most remarkable exterior feature, but I'll tell you more about it once we head inside. At the front, Rossmonster equipped the van with a custom Aluminess front bumper complete with a 12,000-lb (5,443-kg) Warn winch with a synthetic line and fog lights. Up top, there are five Baja Designs LP6 lights.

Rossmonster's mission is to maximize your vehicle's potential and your ability to spend time adventuring in the outdoors. And what better way to do that than to make the vehicle off-road-capable?

In this case, the van is equipped with a Van Compass 2-inch lift, which comes with custom-tuned Falcon shocks and a set of front Sumo Springs. Moreover, the rig rides on Method rims wrapped in Toyo Open Country all-terrain tires.

You get 360-degree lighting due to Rigid lights mounted all around the exterior. On the side, you'll find a Fiamma F45S awning. Finally, at the rear, Rossmonster fitted a custom rear-rugged bumper, an Owl Vans spare tire carrier/ladder combo, and Baja Designs rear lights.

There's one last feature that, despite being fitted inside, technically counts as an exterior feature. I'm talking about a flip-down table integrated into a kitchen counter at the entrance. Pull it down, and it's the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee. Under it, you'll find a shoe storage spot.

Step inside, and you'll discover an extremely spacious interior. The driver's cabin isn't separated from the living space, meaning you get an open layout.

The interior feels so roomy not only because this is the longest version of a Sprinter van but also because of the enormous pop-top roof. It's a Colorado Camper Vans pop top. This is quite an expensive piece of equipment – the price of a unit designed to fit a Sprinter high-top van starts at a whopping $17,785 (€16,574).

But what do you get for it? There's a bed measuring 48 x 80 inches (122 x 203 centimeters), complete with 3-inch (7.6-centimeter) foam bed pads covered with a soft and durable fabric. Furthermore, you get six dimmable LED lights, a dual USB port, a Maxxair fan (which is an extra), and a dual lift system that can be operated by both a remote and a wall-mounted safety switch.

The pop top is made from a multi-layer, wood-reinforced fiberglass top, sturdy enough to hold gear. Moreover, it boasts a multi-layer, 3-season tent material, and six windows, each with three zip-down panels.

To get up there, there's a telescopic ladder you can extend. This pop-top roof makes the interior more roomy and allows two additional souls to be accommodated onboard this van.

While some people only want their camper vans to be as practical as possible, with no focus on aesthetics, others need a nicely designed interior to enjoy mobile living. And with premium conversions like Rossmonster's, you can expect some striking design touches.

This van's wall and ceiling panels are upholstered in Thin Weave Cream fabric, while the floor is made with Alabaster wide planks. Moreover, you'll notice Fenix Verde lower cabinetry paired with Venato Sparkle countertops. The look is completed by bamboo slab upper cabinets.

The kitchen is located in the middle of the interior and is split into two parts. It features a deep farmhouse-style sink with an extendable faucet, an Isotherm 12 V fridge, a Nuwave single-burner induction stove top hidden under a flip-up cover, and a ton of counter space.

For storage, you can use the multiple drawers and cabinets in the kitchen. What's more, many overhead cabinets are running along the ceiling, forming a U-shape.

Rossmonster fitted a dual-section bugscreen for the main door – this is the first time I've seen such a setup. One section covers the galley, while the other covers the rest of the door.

Right above the entrance, you'll discover the rig's control panel, with so many buttons and switches. Specifically, it features switches for the water pump, tank heaters, and more, A/C and heating controllers, a Victron battery monitor, and even controls for the horn.

At the rear, like in most camper vans, Rossmonster devised a dinette area. It consists of a long couch and two swivel tables. What's more, this is where you'll sleep, as the couch can be pulled and transformed into a spacious bed.

Underneath the couch, you'll find the 24 V power system –its highlights are 684 Ah lithium batteries, a 3,000 W inverter, and a 24 V to 12 V converter. While we're on the topic of utilities, let me tell you more about the other systems in this rig.

The plumbing system comprises a 30-gallon (114-liter) freshwater tank, a 7-gallon (26-liter) removable greywater tank, and an under-mounted auxiliary greywater tank. It also boasts a three-stage water filtration system and an outdoor shower.

For heating, Rossmonster installed a Rixen hydronic system, which provides both hot air and hot water and also comes with in-floor heating. Furthermore, most camper vans come with A/C units attached to the ceiling. However, because of the pop-top roof, Rossmosnter had to fit the A/C underneath the vehicle – the company opted for a Complete ProAIR 24 V A/C.

By this point, you might be thinking, "Great, another high-end van without a bathroom." Well, this van does have a bathroom, but it's not a fixed space we're used to seeing. A composting toilet is fitted in one of the kitchen drawers.

You'll notice a square-shaped tray in the middle of the hallway. Well, that's your shower, which comes with a heated pan. In one of the overhead cabinets nearby, Rossmonster added a shower head. You can attach a shower curtain to the ceiling to ensure you don't splash water everywhere around.

This van's garage is accessible by opening the two rear doors. It makes up for its lack of depth by being a floor-to-ceiling unit. It features three large shelves and three smaller ones, as well as a cabinet where the 30-gallon freshwater tank and the Rixen system are housed.

All in all, this is my favorite build I've seen from Rossmonster. It's roomy, well-equipped, good-looking, and ready for off-road and off-grid adventures. Regarding pricing, Rossmonster's custom conversions are priced between $60,000 and $150,000 (€55,936 and €139,840), but I bet this rig is toward the upper end of the range.
