Roll Like Vanilla Ice in This 1994 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible

At the beginning of the year, rapper Vanilla Ice, who basically defined the early ‘90s with his hits, revealed a fully restored Ford Mustang 5.0, the same one he had introduced in his biggest hit to date and to which he would eventually dedicate a full track. The latter, Rollin’ in My 5.0, is included at the bottom of the page for reference.

If you ever wanted to replicate the look from that video and never really got a chance, here it is: a brand new 5.0 has popped up for sale on eBay. And it’s not just a regular Ford Mustang 5.0 of the older Fox-body variety. It is a limited-edition Indy 500 Pace Car Replica, the 39th of the 1,000 ever made: a 1994 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra Convertible based on the SN-95 generation of the Mustang.

The car is being offered for sale by MGM Classic Cars, with the note that they’re a small dealer of classics and exotics with plenty of experience. The offer ends on May 22, 2020 and comes with the non-negotiable price of $40,000 – and a non-refundable $500 deposit upon making an offer, to let the dealer know of the seriousness of your intentions. In impeccable condition, the convertible comes with just 48 original miles (77 km) on the clock, which makes it virtually brand new. Like all Indy 500 Pace Car Replicas, it is painted Rio Red and comes with Saddle leather interior and matching vinyl top. It has the Indy 500 logo on the front seatbacks and the decals on the body.

With a clear Carfax history, this Cobra delivers a 240 hp output (25 hp more than the regular Mustang GT) thanks to the upgrades offered as a package with the special edition. The SVT Cobra needed 6.3 seconds to go from 0 to 60 mph (97 kph), and could reach top speeds of 140 mph (225 kph).
