Wisconsin’s Road America is one of US’ most famed road courses. Open in the mid 1950s, Road America used to host Can-Am races and now entertains crowds with NASCAR Nationwide Series, American Le Mans Series and many other motoring events.
The course is no stranger to racers doing over 200 mph, but don’t expect to see an actual vehicle topping 400 mph in this video. No, we’re not trying to pull a prank on you, this is how AWOL TV and Volkswagen America have advertised what you’re going to see below.

During last year’s SCCA Runoffs, Volkswagen took their Jetta Pace Car out for a lap averaging about 70 mph. The video was then enhanced to look like the four-door sedan ran the track at 400 mph. Not exactly fair, but it’s still a cool a video. At least until a real hypercar can complete the 4 mile road course at this stunning speed.
