General Motors isn't doing great at the start of 2024 – its Ultium EVs are facing delays and a heap of software and recall trouble, while the passenger car lineup is a lot sadder now.
While the EV problems are something only GM can explain, as far as the passenger cars are concerned, it is Chevrolet's fault for the predicament. That is simply because the 2024 Camaro is no more, and the company has already built the final examples of the legendary pony and muscle car. Plus, adding insult to injury, there is no successor in sight, whereas Dodge at least promises a new two-door Charger that is coming with EV and Hurricane power.

As such, while the Camaro is still available on Chevrolet's online portal from $30,900, that's probably just excess stock because the sixth generation has never been a fast seller. Instead, Chevy now only has the $25,100 Malibu mid-size sedan up for grabs, and then it jumps directly to over $68k with the C8 Corvette Stingray. If you want to go with the high-performance versions, that's $105k and almost $113k for the E-Ray or Z06, by the way. Those are pretty big jumps, right?

Well, some folks might be pretty sad that Chevrolet offers nothing other than the cheap Malibu or sporty C8 Corvette, right? Others might even want to take matters into their own hands – or rather, at the tip of their CGI brushes when talking about the rumor mill and the imaginative realm of digital car content creators. As far as Chevy is concerned, lots and lots of outlets, along with their resident pixel masters, think now is the perfect moment for GM to allow the return of a couple of iconic dead nameplates.

Some folks argue the Chevelle could spring back to life in place of the unsuccessful Camaro and try to teach both the S650 Ford Mustang and the upcoming two-door Dodge Charger a muscle car lesson, or two. Others, including the good folks from the AutomagzPro channel on YouTube, have some AI-assisted CGI thoughts about an all-new reborn Chevrolet Impala full-size sedan flagship. Yep, the one and only series that appeared in 1956 on a Motorama show car and then became a series production model in 1958.

In fact, the Impala is not just Chevrolet's beloved 'affordable' flagship passenger car but also a revival specialist – it was produced three times, from 1958 to 1985, 1994 to 1996, and then from 2000 to 2020. As such, a third rebirth wouldn't be exactly surprising for the 2025 model year, right? Now, if that happens, the only question is whether it will look like this muscle sedan that begs to be taken seriously as a sporty full-size sedan or whether Chevrolet would botch things up again regarding design and features.
