While Audi's A6 e-tron family is gearing up for launch, the electric station wagon has unofficially lost all its camouflage, and it looks mighty sexy.
Based on the latest batch of scoops, apparently, these renderings are the work of Kolesa, who took the prototype, peeled the artificial skin away using photo editing, and filled in the blanks with a decent dose of trust us.

All jokes aside, the virtual take on the Audi A6 Avant e-tron is on the realistic side. It features split headlamps flanking the closed-off grille decorated by the four-ring brand's corporate logo, has a decent central air intake below, and aggressive vents to the sides.

With the aggressive lines on the lower parts of the doors and a slightly angular roofline, the profile looks just as sporty as the face. The same goes for the back end, too, which is defined by the full-width LED taillights and sporty diffuser attached to the bumper. The positioning of the reflectors is spot-on, as they sat towards the sides of the rear bumper on the spied testers.

Save for the added Audi logo on the center caps, the wheels are identical to those of the prototype we covered last month. With a ten double-spoke design, they spin around the red brake calipers and appear to be in a slightly bigger size on the digital illustrations, wrapped in thinner tires. Contributing to the sporty stance of the car is the bold paint finish, which we don't think it will be part of the palette.

Moving to the underpinnings, the upcoming Audi A6 Avant e-tron will be identical to the sedan, as both make use of the Volkswagen Group's PPE platform. Aimed at electric vehicles, the architecture is also the foundation stone of the Porsche Macan EV. It supports the 800-volt tech and single and dual-motor powertrains.

We can assume that the most basic versions of the A6 e-tron family will feature single-motor setups, whereas the dual-motor assemblies will likely be reserved for the upper specs. Audi Sport's own RS model will serve as the range-topping flavor of the series. We recently saw it testing as a four-door, featuring wider tracks and a few other bits and bobs over the regular models.

The rumor mill speaks of over 800 horsepower combined from its bi-motor powertrain, which may sound hot enough to give certain ICE-powered supercars a run for their money. However, it needs more than that if it wants to pose a threat to the Tesla Model S Plaid. Therefore, a Performance version might also be in the pipeline, which is what we believe anyway.

The normal A6 e-tron is likely due sometime next year, perhaps followed a few months later by the RS that’s expected to launch as a 2025 model. So, do you wish it looked exactly like the one sketched out above?
