The RAV4 is one of Toyota's most successful models, and they have cashed in on it since 1994, when the first generation came out. Over the years, they introduced four more generations, with the latest dating back to 2018.
As anyone and their pet knows, the fifth-gen Toyota RAV4 is a global product that's sold under different monikers worldwide. Depending on the market, it comes with various powertrains, including several plug-in hybrids. It builds on the TNGA-K platform, which ties it to the Camry, Century SUV, Crown Crossover, Highlander, and Lexus NX, among others.

For the 2022 model year, the Japanese car maker gave it a mid-cycle refresh. It features a few revisions at both ends, some novelties on the inside, and a few other bits and bobs. The following year, the GR Sport joined the lineup in the Old Continent with a stiffer suspension and sportier looks, as well as additional work combined with a couple of electrified powertrains.

With the RAV4 being a very important product for Toyota, it would make a lot of sense to survive for at least another generation. We reckon the sixth installment of the series is probably a couple of years away from arriving at showrooms in markets all over the world, and chances are it will stay true to gasoline power, likely joined by the usual electrified (and maybe electric, too?) assemblies.

Are you curious what it would look like? Well, you're not alone, as so are we. In fact, so is anyone with a slight thing for this model. Various rendering artists are coming to answer this question. We've seen quite a few unofficial takes on it these past few months, and as you can imagine, all of them were on the unrealistic side. After all, it's not like Toyota has started the road-testing phase, and they could simply peel off the fake skin.

As for the digital illustrations shared in the gallery above, they came from Kolesa. Compared to the real thing, this hypothetical 2025 Toyota RAV4 kind of sends Lexus (NX) vibes from certain angles. It has a much larger grille than its predecessor, reworked side vents, a new bumper, slim LED headlamps, and a more modern rear lighting signature.

If anything, you can consider it a more intricate mid-cycle refresh of the current one rather than a new generation, as it brings the usual updated front and rear ends and not much else. Thus, it has the same lines on the profile, identical plastic cladding on the lower parts of the body, the same pillars, side windows, door handles, and so on.

Still, we're fans of the unofficial redesign, and we wouldn't be mad if the company's design team got inspired by these CGIs when sketching out the next RAV4. Would you?
