Toyota, the world's largest automaker, is no slouch – but it's also not the king of the hill everywhere. For example, General Motors ruled the sales charts in North America after the first six months of the year.
However, the Japanese automaker decided that it could change the situation going further with a tidal wave of novelties. Note the arrival of the Prius Prime plug-in hybrid, the Corolla Cross Hybrid, the entire Corolla Nightshade family, the trio of GR special editions (GR86 Trueno, GR Corolla Circuit, GR Supra 45th Anniversary), the 2024 Grand Highlander three-row crossover SUV, and the impending release of the N400 Tacoma plus 2024 Land Cruiser superstars.

Right now, everyone and their mother (if they're Toyota fans) are keeping a watchful eye on the 2024 Tacoma proceeds to find out when they can snatch the new iteration of the best-selling mid-size pickup truck in America. And, according to the rumor mill, the wait isn't going to be lengthy – production is scheduled in December, so the first units should be at dealerships in early 2024. Anyway, other people are looking even further into the future – and with an eye for a different best-seller.

More precisely, the imaginative realm of digital car content creators is now targeting the most popular Toyota RAV4 compact crossover SUV. The nameplate is widely credited with establishing the segment that is now the highest-grossing sector across many regions of the automotive industry, and since its introduction in 1994 (Europe and Japan, the US followed in 1995), it has reached both critical and commercial acclaim.

Now, its XA50 fifth generation is growing rather long in the tooth, so the parallel universes of vehicular CGI have found it fitting to open a portal or two for a sneak peek at the unofficial visions regarding the anniversary 2025 model year. So, to properly celebrate its 30th anniversary, many pixel masters have found it fitting to treat the iconic Toyota RAV4 with either a thorough redesign or an entirely new generation, as a simple special edition just won't do it.

Dimas Ramadhan, the virtual automotive artist behind the Digimods DESIGN channel on YouTube, has taken up the task of revealing the refreshed RAV4 best-seller instead of opting for a completely new, sixth generation. As per tradition, most of his styling decisions are somewhat questionable – though not necessarily in terms of execution. Instead, odd design choices seem to be some of its biggest favorites.

For the 2025 Toyota RAV4, for instance, he chose to adapt the significant design cues of the larger and more rugged 2024 Toyota Land Cruiser (also known as Land Cruiser Prado or 250 across various global markets). More precisely, he took the robust front fascia and tried to adapt it for the subtler RAV4 atmosphere, while the rear also gained some LED taillights with almost the same styling DNA. The result is, well, interesting, right?
