Red Bull Racing Thinks It Has a Chance at Drivers' Title

Red Bull Racing's team principle, Christian Horner, believes that both his drivers have a chance at the 2009 drivers' title and will continue to support both of them.

Horner evaluated Jenson Button's situation as well and said the Brit has to end his series of bad results if he wants to win the title this year.

The Brit who won six of the first seven races in F1 this season, hasn't stepped on the podium in the last five races. To make things even worse he registered his first retirement last weekend at Spa. With Rubens Barrichello only 16 points behind in the championship standings and Vettel tailing with 19 points, the battle for the drivers title is expected bring some of the best performances in the remaining GPs.

"Rubens has taken 10 points out of him in the last two races and Sebastian six points here, and he's not had a good weekend since Istanbul in early June. He can't continue to have race weekends like he's had without being punished points wise in the next couple of events. It's still a four-horse race between now and the end of the championship," said Christian Horner.

"It's all left to play for, and I think there's going to be another twist in the championship between now and the end of the year," he added.

Christian Horner said his drivers look both strong and able to claim this year's F1 title, so the team won't stop supporting one in the favor of the other.

"Sebastian has moved to within 19 points, and although Mark didn't score, both still have a real chance of overhauling over him. With one-and-a-half-points between the drivers it would be wrong at this stage to back one over the other. We'll continue to do what we've done all year and support both of them with equal priority," concluded Red Bull Racing's team principal.
