We’ve recently watched the Turbo motion picture and we were disappointed to find nothing more than a child-destined animation with a pretty basic setup. To put it shortly, it’s not worth the time, despite the pretty nice visual effects.
Instead of spending 90 minutes or so to watch Turbo, you could get the kind of miniaturized go-fast story over with in a little over one minute by clicking the “play” button of the clip below.

This brings us a custom RC car that almost manages to hit a whopping 100 mph (160 km/h) on the drag strip. Just like Turbo the snail, the main character in the film, the little car finds it a bit difficult to cope with the imperfect runway and eventually flips over - the movie is set on the Indy 500 track though.

We have to explain that this is a custom 1:8 scale McLaren body placed on a shortened XO-1 chassis. However, it doesn’t feature the XO-1’s electric motor, but a Mamba Monster 2,200 kv motor.

By the way, in real life objects this small can’t trip the sensors on the track, so we don’t know the 1/4 mile time for the RC model.
