Traxxas XO-1: World’s Fastest RC Supercar at 100 MPH

We know of a good few people that haven’t taken their cars past the first 100 miles per hour (161 km/h), so the news we’re about to bring you might blow your mind. The world’s fasters remote control supercar has been unveiled in the form of the 100+ mile per hour Traxxas XO-1.
To put things into perspective, most regular electric cars on the market today don’t reach that sort of speed. What’s more, the XO-1 will humiliate any full-sized supercar with its 0 to 60 time of just 2.3 seconds, and the fact that it tops out in about 5 seconds.

What really makes it cool in our eyes is that it doesn’t run on Nitrous or any of those volatile mixes RC cars use, as it’s powered by a set of 5000mAh lithium-ion polymer batteries.

"It must only be driven at its top speed on a closed course such as a racetrack or drag strip where there are safety barricades and pedestrian access controls. Operating the XO-1 in a careless, unsafe manner, without adequate care and preparation, can result in collisions with catastrophic consequences such as serious injury or death. Know your limits," the manufacturer says.

If you’d like to buy one for Christmas, be prepared to pay the serious price tag of $1099.99. While some might say that’s expensive, we know that model jet engines go for a lot more than that, so it’s not all bad.
