After setting the new Pike Peak course time record for production vehicles, the 2014 Range Rover Sport has been named the official pace car for the 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
Driven by veteran Paul Dallenbach, who has won four Pikes Peak titles in 19 years, a 5.0-liter V8-powered 2014 Range Rover Sport completed the 12.42-mile course in 12 minutes and 35.61 seconds and with an average speed of 59.17 mph.
No word yet on who will be driving the pace car, but we do know Dallenbach will be tackling the event in the Rhys Millen Racing Hyundai Genesis Coupe, the same car that currently holds the Colorado-course record.
The 2013 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is scheduled to take place on June 30.
