We have known since last year that Dodge's V8 days are numbered – at least as far as the Challenger and Charger models are concerned. Now, the same bad news applies to Ram Trucks, too.
The 2023 Dodge Challenger and Charger are the final pony and muscle cars with the Hemi V8 under the hood. That's a sad thing, indeed, but it also turns all these vehicles into veritable collectible items. Stellantis knows that very well, so they ushered in an entire series of seven 'Last Call' special edition models that culminated in the reveal of the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 with up to 1,025 horsepower on E85.

Just recently, Ram Trucks also revealed the 2025 model year for the 1500 series with incredible novelties across the board. There are subtle design changes, extensive interior upgrades, as well as a plethora of new powertrains under the hood, plus a couple of new versions – Tungsten and the EV with range extender Ramcharger. Unfortunately, the arrival of the recent Hurricane inline-six turbo mills also signals the demise of the Hemi V8s, including the 6.2-liter supercharged mill powering the mighty 702-hp TRX.

Thus, we must cherish all sights of the Dodge Challenger, Charger, and Ram 1500 TRX as they won't last forever. It doesn't even matter where we encounter them as long as the roars of the V8s can be clearly heard. Here, let us give you an example. The videographer behind the Wheels channel on YouTube is a massive fan of Bandimere Speedway, Mission Raceway Park, and The Strip (at Las Vegas Motor Speedway).

He or she never misses a chance to catch some feisty action, and the latest feature now comes from The Strip, where it's all about the Mopars. First, a black-and-purple Ram 1500 that looked ready for a night out in town met with a gray and black-striped Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat. When dealing with quarter-mile dragstrips, one should always expect the unexpected.

Alas, this time around, the unthinkable didn't happen – the Dodge Challenger thundered out in its lane and gained an excellent foothold during the race. Ultimately, it finished with a 12.18s ET against its opponent's 15.38s pass. If you're feeling unimpressed regarding the truck side of the Mopar things, the next couple of races are between a white-and-black Ram 1500 TRX and an orange or blue Challenger.

Interestingly, the 702-hp supercharged pickup truck looked like it was better prepared for some adventurous action on mountain trails with a lift kit and off-road tires rather than a brawl at the local dragstrip. Nevertheless, it didn't concede victory and wiped clean the shame of its prior sibling. By the way, if you want even more racing action, we also embedded below the latest video from ImportRace featuring a heavily modified old-school Jeep Cherokee going against a Cadillac CT4-V and a Camaro SS.
