BMW Groups is an official sponsor of the 2012 London Olympic Games and as such has provided a huge fleet of cars, not only efficient diesels, but also a number of electric vehicles. Besides the 40 MINI E hatchback that have been transporting athletes and officials, three more electric MINIs have joined the fleet.
These are the three scale Coopers radio controlled models that look just like the real cars but are used to transport javelins, discuses, hammers and other pieces of olympic gear.

The RS cars are powered by a 10 hp electric motor, measure 1,100mm (43.3 inches) and carry up to 8kg (18 pounds) of equipment.

"The MINI team was thrilled to be given this challenge to develop a vehicle with such an important and high profile role during the Olympic and Paralympic Games," commented Juergen Hedrich, Managing Director of MINI Plant Oxford.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
