We're hoping this concept needs no introduction, but just in case you haven't heard of it already, we'll tell you it's a concept called the Provo.
The Koreans have gotten it in their heads that they can do pretty much everything just as well as the Germans. To get to where they are, they've hired a German to do their designing and set up shop near the Nurburging, fancy stuff for a company few people liked a decade ago.
This leek, low, yet muscular coupe-style hatchback is their idea for the future. It's a B-segment car with the engine in the front, front wheel-drive and seating for two. But that's not all, it has the latest 204 PS 1.6-liter T-GDi engine mated to their first dual-clutch gearbox and even an electric motor over the back wheel for some extra power.
We met up with the Provo on the Geneva Motor Show floor, as it was standing between the new cee'd GTs. The concept has plenty to show, starting with the way the headlights move like waves to the exquisite interior.
It's also very small, measuring only 3.88 metres long, 1.77 metres wide and 1.35 metres tall. We see it as a direct rival to the MINI Coupe. Even looking past the carbon fiber nose and the blood-orange accents contrasting with the grey-green ‘Storm Metal’ body color, it's a beautiful car. In addition, we're kind of tired of how MINI can change €32,000 for a JCW Coupe without giving you every bit of kit you need. If Kia's design teams in Europe can put this the Provo into production, even without the ingenious Smart 4WD Hybrid system, we're happy campers.
