Brothers Justin and Jarod from the Arizona-based Del Prado Custom Cycles came up with an idea which is at least as interesting as it is strange: having a around 30,000 people combining their bike design ideas for the very first DP bike not designed by the two.
Del Prado launched a public event with Local Motors, a web-based community of car designers and fabricators, and are looking forward to see the results the LM members come up with.

The designs must be based n a 2000-2003 Harley-Davidson Sportsters and ideas are accepted between the launch date, March 5 and March 31 2013. So if you have some ideas you'd like to see put into a bike, but you can't afford to build it yourselves, just head to the DP Customs Local Motors project page and make yourself heard seen.

The top 10 projects will be awarded prize money:

First Place – $2,000 cash or $5,000 toward the purchase of the winning bike.
Second Place – $1,350 cash or $3,500 toward the purchase of the bike.
Third Place – $950 cash or $2,500 toward the purchase of the bike.
Fourth – 10th Place – $100 each, or $250 toward the purchase of the bike.

Now we're talking bike design community! We loved Del Prado's Ayrton Senna tribute bike and we're looking forward to see the new one!
