I'm well aware of the fact that any given Neunelfer can be described as a modernized incarnation of its predecessor(s). However, the connection of this 991.2 GT3 RS to the 997 3RS is stronger than that. So allow me to explain the title above.
For one thing, this 2019 toy comes dressed in a little shade called Pure Orange. Porschephiles are certainly familiar to this non-metallic hue, since it was one of the presentation shades for the ".1" 997 GT3 (check out the images above).
Then we have the model designation decals on the sides of the vehicle. These not-small stickers have been transfered from one generation to another, so they do count as a bridge.
Of course, with this being a 991.2, we get to talk about delicious options. You see, the rear-engined coupe is here in maximum attack mode.
As such, the toy is gifted with the Weissach Package, hence the visible carbon on its top surfaces. Then we have the uber-light magnesium wheels - the black finish of the shoes only comes to complement the color scheme of the sub-7 machine (this Porscha can blitz the Nurburgring in 6:56.4, remember?).
A right-hand-drive model, this example also packs other options that are worthy of our attention, such as the full-LED headlights, which come with black inner graphics.
Oh, and those banana-colored calipers, which signal the presence of PCCB (Porsche Carbon Ceramic Brakes) hardware, take the weight reduction to the next level, lowering both the overall and the unsprung mass of the car.
And while the images below don't take us inside the car, the PTSRS social media registry that brought this Zuffenhausen tool to our attention mentions the full bucket seats (yep, these are visible from the outside), along with the door straps in gloss black.
PS: For the record, this is the first documented 911 GT3 RS dressed in the said Paint To Sample shade.
