Mentos Porsche 935 Looks So Fresh, So Clean

Almost one year ago today, Porsche swept us all off our feet by releasing the 2019 935, a new-age incarnation of the original Moby Dick. Based on the GT2 RS, only 77 examples of the racecar are being brought to the world, but is this number large or small?

The answer obviously depends on one's perspective. So while there might be collectors out there who consider the said figure to be too generous, those who could afford the circuit beast (think: 701,948 Euro plus country-specific VAT), but didn't manage to make their names appear on the list, will obviously think otherwise.

For one thing, I see the said number as 77 opportunities to enjoy various liveries of the machine. And I've brought along a fresh example of this.

The name of the scotch mints producer has appeared on circuit-confined Porsches before, but with the elongated body of the 935, there's more real estate to cover, which obviously results in a treat for the eyes. I just hope that nobody will spill Coca-Cola on the car...

For the record, the fresh breath brand was originally founded in the Netherlands back in 1948, but this is currently brought to the market by Italian company Perfetti Van Melle.

Returning to the 935, the introduction of the lap toy has sparked a vawe of "replicas", with these obviously relying on aftermarket bits.

As such, the machines range from pretty ridiculous proposals, such as this GT2 RS "Longtail conversion", to brilliant budget machines likes this (ready for it?) 914-8.

Of course, this is a brilliant opportunity to remember that the German automotive producer has already released a fantastic set of liveries for the non-homologated machine and with deliveries having kicked off in June, you might just get to meet one at the racetrack.
