Because the Porsche 918 has had such a long and public revealing, it’s really hard to tell where the concepts start and the production cars end. We’ve watched Porsche chauffeur potential customers on the track before the car was actually ready, enjoyed endless streams of press footage and wondered what the if it could be faster than the McLaren P1.
The hybrid supercar from Germany was shown at a number of major motor shows last year. So then, why are we looking at another video of it arriving in Geneva? Because this is an actual production car. You can tell from the green brake calipers which are a trademark of Porsche hybrids and the superior fit and finish. Look close at the car in the video and you’ll notice production taillights which have a hallow centers for maximum visual impact, a new engine deck and beautiful lightweight targa top.
This footage was captured yesterday, February 28th, just as Porsche employees were unloading the car off a trailer and into the Geneva Motor Show. Everything is going smoothly and the 918 rolls in under its own power without having to turn its V8 engine on. It’s a tight fit but she fits nicely!

The big difference between Geneva and Frankfurt 2013 where the 918 was also shown is that the people who ordered their 918 then are now soon to take delivery of their near-million-euro investments. This next video shows how the 918 Spyder is actually built. A factory tour of Porsche's Stuttgart facilities was released two days ago (February 27th) and shows the long assembly process.
