We’ve just met the Coupe version of the BMW i3 concept at the 2012 Los Angeles International Auto Show and now it seems that the car is set to become a reality for US customers in 2014.
The production incarnation of the BMW i3 Coupe will reach showrooms across the US during the first part of 2014 and BMW has big plans for the electric car. The carmaker might have used a sportier body in order to sustain its brand image, translating it into this new eco motoring era, but the car has the same wheelbase as the previous i3 Concept, so it promises to also be practical.
The concept uses lithium-ion batteries and offers a range of 100 miles (161 km), but comes with a special feature that connects the vehicle’s systems to BMW’s navigation system and network communications to continuously update the driving range info according to the traffic situations.
