Prestige GreenCab Gets Charged by Epyon

One of the few charging solutions providers in Europe, Epyon, announced today it has signed a deal with Netherlands-based Prestige GreenCab that would see it provide the taxi operator with the needed charging stations for its fleet of green vehicles.

Although the cab operator currently runs a fleet of only six EVs, the partnership could mean a lot for Epyon in light of future development of the EV sector. Prestige itself plans to increase the size of its EV fleet to 40 vehicles this year, while Epyon is getting ready to become one of the main providers of charging stations of the continent.

For Prestige, Epyon will supply its Terra Base Station 100.X with fast-charge posts, which will be installed in front of Prestige's office in the Dutch city of Nieuwegein. The station can be used to recharge our EVs simultaneously in anywhere in between 15 and 30 minutes.

"We're receiving strongly increasing interest for our multi-port solutions from professional fleet owners like Prestige," said Johan Peeters, Epyon's VP of Marketing and Sales.

“A cab company has to keep its vehicles operational throughout the day and can't afford to wait eight hours for a battery to charge. Fast-charging makes the business case work."

Epyon's chargers recently received the CHAdeMO certification, after the standardization organization found that the Terra web-updateable stations support a DC CHAdeMO-compliant connection up to 50kW.

The advantages for those using these types of chargers start with saving space and continue with solving queuing problems and the ability to charge EVs using different protocols.
