Porsche Shuffles Top Executives

Many fans experience an infinite thrilling sensation or a deep sadness that can come close to depression when their favorite brand heads to a new direction. And the pathway chosen by a brand is obviously not dictated by Internet polls as many enthusiasts would love. The direction towards a company is steered is most of the times imposed by supervisory boards taking cold, business-only decisions.

If you were wondering what the latest executive shuffling is, we’ll tell you that it comes from a brand that generates a pretty serious wave of emotions worldwide, Porsche. The Supervisory board of the Porsche AG has appointed Matthias Muller (57) as the new Chairman of the Board of Management.

Muller succeeds Michael Macht (49), who has become a Member of the Group Board Management of Volkswagen AG. The executive, who will fill in his new position on October 1, will be responsible for the Production Division and therefore will supervise the control and coordination of all plants of the Volkswagen Group.

The executive was previously in charge of Product Planning, Product Management and Model Series for the VW Group and the Volkswagen Brand.

Matthias Muller gives us the exceptional competence of an outstanding product expert benefiting the interaction of independent brands within an Integrated Automotive Group leading the market worldwide. Contributing this knowledge, he guarantees that Porsche, as a world brand, will not only maintain, but further expand its top position,” states Dr. Wolfgang Porsche, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Porsche AG.
