Only three units of the car will be built, with orders being accepted until July 31. Centurion members who want to show their status on four wheels will have to pay around $256,000 (EUR 210,000) for the 911 Carrera S Centurion Edition. American Express announced that a part of the money received for each of the vehicles will be donated to UNICEF.
The interior of the bespoke 911 comes finished in a mix of black leather and Alcantara and features carbon fiber trimming. Each of the three units will have its custom set of badges showing the production number. The stainless steels plaques bearing the “Centurion From American Express” logo will be placed the front door panels and door sills. The vehicle rides on custom rims that come in a 19 inch size.
The car is powered by a 3.8 liter boxer engine that delivers 385 hp and 309.8 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque and uses a PDK double clutch gearbox. Featuring the Sport Chrono pack, the car can leave the 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint in 4.3 seconds and offers a top speed of 186 mph (300 km/h).
Our opinion: If you consider the vehicle’s “black” roots, it might be an interesting product, but if you regard it as a 911, it seems to be a less-than-special special edition.
