Porsche Reveals World Premiere for 2011 NAIAS

We're a few weeks away from the official debut of the 2011 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) and companies attending the venue have already started announcing their goodies to be displayed in Detroit. Porsche is one of the big names and, as far as the German carmaker is concerned, the 2011 NAIAS will play a key role in the company's strategy for the United States.

That's why it decided to remind us once again that it will bring a "world premiere" at the event but, again, no details or information regarding the future new model. It confirmed however that alongside the all-new model, Porsche will also display some local premieres, so several goodies will expect us in January at the German carmaker's booth.

Earlier this month, a Porsche spokesman offered us the first hint regarding the company's plans for the 2011 NAIAS, revealing that a "spectacular" sportscars will be launched at the show.

“We’ll have something spectacular to show there. You’ll have to wait and be surprised,” said Hans- Gerd Bode, a spokesman for the sportscar manufacturer, in early December.

Voices familiar with the matter have already offered us a preview of what to expect from the German manufacturer at the 2011 NAIAS, hinting that the company could show either a production-ready version of the 918 Spyder or the eagerly-awaited Cayman CS. Of course, none of them is a certain product, so more details are likely to emerge in the first days of January.

autoevolution will be attending the 2011 NAIAS, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
