The newest addition to the Porsche range, the Panamera, has already begun collecting awards from various organizations, as it rushes onto the market. The latest feat of the Panamera is the Best New Car of the Year in the Luxury Performance Class, according to a 50-man jury.
"Porsche’s Gran Turismo convinced the 50-man jury made up of racing drivers, engineers, celebrities and the senior editors of the Auto Bild Magazine Group trying out the candidates on thorough test drives," Porsche said in a release.
"Before receiving this outstanding award, the Panamera had already been chosen by readers as one of the five best models in the luxury performance class with experts putting the car through its paces in the final contest on a test track in Italy for two enduring days."
The jury which recognized the Panamera as the Golden Steering Wheel in its class was comprised of racing drivers, engineers, celebrities and editors from Auto Bild Magazine Group.
The Panamera, released onto the market on September 12, is powered by a 4.8l V8 engine which develops either 400 horsepower (4S) or 500 horsepower (Turbo).
