Porsche Mini Rendering Looks Funky in a Good Way

Remember the Volkswagen BlueSport Concept? It was one third of a secret trio of sportscar, which was supposed to be developed with Audi and Porsche. But the project was canned because Porsche didn't believe it can make enough money with a sportscar cheaper than the Porsche.
There hasn't been a really cheap Porsche since the 914 and 924. Times are really changing and sportscar are no-longer the go-to mode of transportation for well-off young buyers. But what about something else, something that hasn't got the engine in the back?

Ever since Audi turned the VW Polo into the A1, people have been fascinated with the idea of a small city car or supermini. Rightfully so, since as the latest rendering by X-Tomi Designs suggests, there's a lot Porsche design language can do for this segment.

Of course, this sort of project carries with it a lot of risk. For example, Aston Martin's Toyota based Cygnet was a tremendous flop and has had to be canceled after only 150 or so were made. In addition, Porsche's powder is pretty much spent after they've invested heavily into the development of the Macan. Company officials are now weighing in the possibility of a sports mid-size luxury sedan to battle the 5 Series, so there really isn't any money left in the piggybank for a small hatch.

But if the time comes and Porsche really builds its own version of the VW Polo, what would it be like? For starters, it would have superior standard levels of trim to the A1. It would also have to get the biggest possible engines, perhaps starting with the 2.0 TDI 184 PS and the 231 PS from the S1. After all, there's no point in making a new Porsche model if it's not the best in class.
