Porsche Honors Top Suppliers

Parts & components suppliers play an important role in a car’s market success, especially if we are talking about a premium vehicle like Porsche. You can think at this using the economic science approach, analyzing the complex supply & demand chain or looking at it in a romantic way, imagining the passion that goes into the design process of certain components that sometimes remain unnoticed - no matter how you see it, suppliers are very important.

Porsche knows this and it's why the German automaker has recently held a special ceremony at its customer center in Leipzig, honoring its ten best suppliers. The champion of the past fiscal year is BBS, a German company that produces lightweight rims for the sports car manufacturer.

Only through close cooperation with our suppliers are we able to perform continuously at a peak level in development and production. That is why we have relied on long-term relationships with our suppliers for years. These annual “Supplier Awards” give us the opportunity to thank our suppliers for their successful collaboration,” explained Michael Macht, President and CEO of Porsche AG.

Porsche says that the quality of its suppliers’ products and services have contributed to the high rankings achieved by its vehicles in quality and customer satisfaction studies. The most recent performance of this kind was achieving first place in the J.D. Power reliability study on used car quality.

Others suppliers that have been recognized for their top performance and services are Brembo, Dietz-automotive, HBPO, Lear Corporation, Rehau, Takata-Petri, Zizala Lichtsysteme, Friedrich Buhler, KG and ATG Autotransportlogistic.
