Porsche GT2 RS Invades America

If you are an American enthusiast driver who sits behind the wheel of a creation wearing a Ferrari, Lamborghini or a multitude of other exclusive badges, you are now in great danger. The threat: the most powerful road-going Porsche in history has set wheel on US soil.

A squadron of... 20 units of the supercar landed at the El Toro Air Station in Irvine, California last month. The owners who received their vehicles were allowed to enjoy a track experience with the rear-engined beasts. As we are talking about a car that comes with an output of 620 hp, the drivers were assisted by Porsche Driving Instructors.

The entire operation was led by Andreas Preuninger, Porsche High Performance Cars Manager. The executive took the time to share some insights form the GT2 RS’ development program.

Last month, the first twenty 911 GT2 RS customers had the opportunity to take delivery of their new cars at the El Toro Air Station in Irvine California. Customers used the event to familiarize themselves with their new cars alongside Porsche Driving Instructors on the open airfield.  Andreas Preuninger, the Manager of High Performance Cars for Porsche, was also in attendance and used the event to disclose the secrets of the "Beast" GT2 RS development program,” stated the press release.

You can watch the experience in the video bellow but, before you move on to that, we have to tell you that the company’s specialists spent 80,000 hours of engineering time and entered the car in a 435,000 miles (700,000 km) testing program to make sure that everything is ready.
