There’s a new top sportscar contender in town, with more power, better looks and... a new wing at the back. We love to dip our tow in the design waters, but for actual explanations of how a good cars has become great we have to go to an expert.
Introducing Director Style Porsche Michael Mauer, who is there in the studio as the first shots of the new 911 are taken. The well spoke German gives us a walk around of the 2012 model year.
He talks about the width to hight ratio... basically how much a car a can look muscular and sculpted. Here’s how he describes the challenge of creating this shape: “First of all, the new 911 must be recognizable as a 911, but also as the new 911,” the designer says.
We love the LED lights, the new coupe-ish looks and especially the back end, and so does Mauer. Our favorite quote: “For me personally, the back end is the highlight.” We couldn’t agree more, and this is also true about cars.
