Porsche Confirms Cajun Production

After an infinity of rumors that generated a tsunami of news, the information is finally official: Porsche has confirmed that its future line-up will include an SUV that will be slotted under the Cayenne model and will use the Cajun name.

The company is planning to grab a higher share of the SUV market, and will gift the future model with two main assets, efficiency and sportiness. The automotive producer promises that the SUV will be light and will offer a high level of agility.

Under the working name "Cajun", this efficient and sporty model will further expand the world’s most successful Porsche segment in the SUV sector. In addition to the new Cayenne, which has clearly consolidated its market position as the most successful sporty SUV in the premium segment, the "Cajun" will also have a very positive impact with its typical Porsche features such as light weight, ease of handling and agility,” stated the press release, offering us a preview of the principles that stand behind the future vehicle.

In addition to that, the Cajun will join the Boxster model in the entry-level side of Porsche range. This will allow the vehicle to expand the carmaker’s target public, bringing new customers to the brand.

As an attractive entry model in the Porsche world, the "Cajun" will attract new and even younger customers to the premium brand along with the Boxster, the market leader in the segment of two-seater, mid-size sports cars,” stated the press release.
