The tuning world has something to offer for everyone, being able to cater for every imaginable custom transportation need. However, sometimes aftermarket developers come up with answers to questions that might have not been asked. This could be the case of the two tuned rides you see in the adjacent image.

We are talking about two tuned Mercedes-Benz vehicles, a SL 65 AMG and a CLS 55 AMG. To see exactly what happened to these rides we must travel to Japan. Yes, we know, it’s hard to believe that the same country that offered the world the Nissan GT-R and the Mitsubishi Lancer Evo also gave birth to these two creations.

Both rides were created by Pole Position Tuning, which decided to use an extreme visual approach that doesn’t seem to match Mercedes’ elegant factory styling cues.

The vehicles were fitted with widebody kits and have had the stock rims replaced with generously-sized custom ones. The rims used on the SL use a five-spoke design, while the CLS received a set of rims with a multi-spoke design. Both sets of wheels use a flashy appearance.

In addition to that, the tuner chose to fit both cars with extremely-large rear wings, which are made from carbon fiber. The SL’s one uses a Plexiglas mount, while the CLS’s features an aluminum mount.

While the bodykits may or may not be suitable for the vehicles, these massive rear wings certainly bring an exaggerated image that ruins the entire job.
