While EVs may not make a lot of sense for the current car-buying public, they do make a lot of sense as delivery vehicles, going on short round trips is what the current generation of all-electric vehicles is best at.
Peugeot wants to take full advantage of this, by launching a cargo-oriented version of their iOn (Citroen C-Zero, Mitsubishi i-MiEV) EV. The car is done in collaboration with vehicle conversion specialists, Sortimo, and the rear part of the interior has been modified to accommodate various types of cargo.
Aside from that, it features blocked-out rear windows, to give it that van-like appearance. Mechanically-speaking, it is identical to its passenger-carrying sibling, with which it shares the same 150 km (90 mile) range. Sadly, it shares one additional trait with the passenger car - the very high price.

The iOn cargo costs €29,390 and companies (who are run by people always looking to cut costs) will not be able to justify buying such a vehicle, when a conventionally-powered alternative of the same size is 1/3 the price and uses very little fuel.
