Peugeot’s UK division is preparing the market introduction of the iOn electric vehicle, with the company appointing 22 of its dealers to retail and service the vehicle.
All 22 dealers are located in the proximity of “Plugged-in Places”, which will receive Government support for the introduction of the necessary charging infrastructure.
“The Peugeot iOn will play an important part in developing Peugeot’s commitment to providing a wide range of low carbon transport solutions. 100% electric provides just one of the solutions for urban transport needs alongside a range of other technology that Peugeot will bring to market over the coming months,” a company statement reads.
The list of dealers includes three locations in in the Midlands, two in the East of England, two in the North East, two in Scotland, two in London and one each in Milton Keynes, Manchester, and Northern Ireland. There are another seven across the South, South West and South Wales and one in Leeds.
Each “specialist” dealer will host a Peugeot iOn demonstrator, special EV charging point as well as the adequate servicing equipment. In addition to that, the dealers’ staff will receive special EV training.
“Customers wanting to make the most of the Government Plug-In Car Grant of £5,000 can order a Peugeot iOn straightaway and expect to be driving emissions-free by February. To help, Peugeot has developed a bespoke leasing offer for the new iOn and it is available on a four year, 40,000 mile personal lease scheme from £415 per month plus VAT with zero deposit,” stated the press release.
