The RCZ is easily Peugeot’s prettiest and sportiest car for years. It shows us that the French manufacturer still has the necessary resources to make proper sports cars, albeit ones underpinned by a front-wheel drive hatchback, but one with a good chassis to start with.
It was launched in 2010 and it is built at the Magna factory in Graz, Austria. So far, Peugeot has not made any alterations to the car (a facelift), so to keep the range fresh, they have launched a special edition version, called Onyx. It is available with a range of special colors: Blanc Opale, Gris Sidorne, Gris Haria and Noir Perla.
It is available only in France and Germany and it features a slew of interesting cosmetic additions, such as silver stitching on the inside leather, two-tone fabric for the (part-leather) seats, while also featuring other extras including ‘Comfort’ and ‘Sport’ packages, as well as sat-nav.
If you live in France or Germany and are interested in buying one of these, the 154 hp 2.0-liter diesel will set you back €34,500 ($42,200), while the 1.6-liter petrol version, with 154 hp is slightly cheaper (and better), at €32,000 ($39,250).
