New Renault Clio Sports Tourer Becomes Virtual Reality

Back about a week ago, we showed you the firs glimpse of the next Clio Sports Tourer, which Renault had accidently let slip in a video about the regular hatchback’s development. The car was sitting without any wheels in a special machine that replicates road bumps and tests the suspension.
Now though, that lower resolution screenshot has been cleaned up and enhanced digitally by PS-Garage to give us a much clearer view of the finished product, the production Renault Clio Sports Tourer.

The transformation from supermini to estate has not ruined the Clio at all. To the contrary, this exterior flows very nicely. At the back of the car, we’re presented with huge lights that split over to the tailgate. The glass surface tapers towards the end of the side profile of the car and then the bottom edge flows down. It’s very good looking, even if we do say so ourselves.

The engine range should hold no surprises, meaning you’ll have a choice of a 0.9 TCe, a 1.2 TCe or the 90 PS 1.5-liter diesel.

The only problem we foresee is the price. Currently, there’s a €600 price increase from the five-door hatchback to the Sports Tourer range, meaning when this new car arrives it could cost over €14,000, which is a lot for a little French car.
