As the Geneva Auto Show approaches fast, we're making a list of vehicles that we really want to spend some time with. One of these special four-wheeled creations that have conquered our hearts over the web is the Peugeot 908 Le Mans racer, which will make its world debut at the event.
"The new 908, unveiled by Peugeot Sport in February, embodies the Marque’s dynamism on the Peugeot stand," a company statement reads.
We're really looking forward to meeting the beast in person, especially to find out more about how it manages to combine racing aggression with the three-hugging (no pun intended) assets. We have to remind you that we are talking about a diesel monster that allows the driver to use over 550 hp in his attempt to be the best on the track. However, the V8 also promises to be gentle on the environment, at least compared to a similarly-powered gasoline unit.
"The goal of the 908, as in 2010, is to win the Intercontinental Le Mans Cup Championship, with, as its highlight the Le Mans 24 Hours race over the weekend of 11 and 12 June this year," stated the press release.
"The all-new 908 meets technical regulations with its dorsal fin but also with its new V8 HDi FAP engine with a capacity of 3.7 litres, developing a power of some 550 bhp."
autoevolution will be attending the 2011 Geneva Motor Show, so stay tuned for some real up close and personal shots of the vehicles, as well as for first-hand details of the motorized contraptions presented at the event.
